Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results driven Marketing & Business Development Manager to lead our marketing initiatives and drive business growth. This strategic role will oversee brand development, market expansion, and business development efforts while serving as BCI’s official public relations representative.

The ideal candidate will combine strong agricultural sector knowledge with proven marketing expertise to promote BCI’s products and services, identify new market opportunities, and build sustainable partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Brand Management:

• Develop and manage comprehensive advertising campaigns for BCI products and services
• Lead brand development and positioning strategies
• Handle social media, public relations, and content marketing initiatives
• Evaluate and maintain winning marketing strategies
• Create promotional campaigns in collaboration with advertising and media agencies
• Organize company conferences, trade shows, and major events

Business Development:

• Lead product development and identification of new customer segments
• Research market demand and evaluate competitive landscape
• Develop and implement sustainable business plans
• Guide business development framework and strategy
• Seek opportunities to improve business operations
• Provide technical assistance in preparing business proposals

Sales & Strategic Planning:

• Support pricing strategy development that maximizes profits while ensuring customer satisfaction
• Drive sales and lead generation efforts
• Build and consolidate strategic partnerships with collaborators
• Supervise implementation of business ventures

Required Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences
• Advanced degree in Business Administration/Marketing

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of working experience with an agro-based organization
• Proven experience in competitive marketing environments
• Demonstrated business development experience at managerial level

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong understanding of Uganda’s agriculture sector
• Knowledge of Uganda’s and East Africa’s agricultural inputs regulations
• Experience with online marketing, social media, and content marketing
• Advanced communication, interpersonal, and public relations skills
• Strategic thinking and analytical abilities
• Proven track record in brand development and market expansion
